Rexel ActiVita Strip Daylight Lamp

Is The Rexel ActiVita Strip Lamp An SAD Lamp Or Just For Daylight?

Rexel ActiVita Strip Daylight LampDaylight lamps like the Rexel ActiVita Strip Daylight Lamp can be a great substitute for harsh lighting in the home or at an office desk.

Some can even provide therapeutic benefits because of the design of the lamp and the quality of the light source. Is this the case with this model or is a strip light too restrictive?

The Pros and Cons of this Rexel ActiVita Strip Daylight Lamp.

Pros:

  •  The adjustability of the head of the light
  •  The brightness slider on the base
  •  It looks good on a desk with a decorative feel

Cons:

  •  The narrow strip isn’t going to offer that much light
  •  The bulb might not be suitable for those with SAD-related needs.

The key benefit to this Rexel ActiVita Strip Daylight Lamp is the fact that it is so adjustable for the user.

There are two examples of this adjustability. Firstly, there is the way that users can adjust the head of the lamp to angle the light at just the right level for their needs. This directs the strip to their eyeline and the right distance for the light therapy they desire.

Then there is the slider found in the base that lets users slide the brightness level up and down with ease. This means that you can find the right level for comfort without relying on basic high and low settings.

If you are having a bad morning you can increase the intensity to try and combat the symptoms. If you are struggling with light sensitivity a little more one day then you can tone it down.

The slider is a nice touch in a product that is sold as a stylish option for those that want a simple daylight lamp at home. There is the minimalist design with as few features as possible to deal with.

It can look great on the desk or the bedside table and doesn’t look like a medical device – which leads us to the downside of this product.

Is this Rexel Strip Light really an SAD lamp or just a daylight lamp?

The biggest issue here is that there will be people buying this as an SAD light that might not get the treatment they need. The light source is designed to mimic daylight and, therefore, could still be highly beneficial to the right user.

But, it is telling that the company doesn’t talk about the lumens of the light, provide any sort of timer or mention medical benefits in the description.

It might not be strong enough for effective therapy and the strip light doesn’t have the wide reach of the best SAD lamps.

Is this Rexel ActiVita Lamp still recommendable with all this in mind?

Therefore, this lamp is only really recommendable to those that need something decorative and soft rather than something sure to aid cases of SAD or sleep disorders.

The “daylight” effect and slider could still be helpful but there is no guarantee. That said, the Rexel ActiVita Strip Daylight Lamp is still practical and appealing for the right function and setting.
