Is A Beurer TL80 Daylight Lamp Too Big For Practical Light Therapy?

Beurer TL80 Daylight LampThe concept of the Beurer TL80 Daylight Lamp sounds great on paper. All you need to do is press the button on the bottom of the light, tilt the lamp on its base to create the perfect angle of illumination, and then enjoy its output for as long as you need to.

But, there is also the factor of size. So, how do these dimensions affect user satisfaction?

The Pros and Cons of this Beurer TL80 Daylight Lamp.

Pros:

  •  The ability to use this to light up a room for casual use
  •  The quality of the flicker-free light tubes
  •  No complicated settings or features to worry about

Cons:

  •  The lamp is enormous compared to other desk lights and difficult to home
  •  It isn’t the same intense therapy as other devices

The Beurer TL80 SAD Lamp has a nice bright light for basic light therapy.

The simple aim here is to provide a consistent natural light source that users can benefit from to combat conditions like SAD.

For the most part, it seems to do the job pretty well, with plenty of reviewers noticing a difference and impressed with the quality of the light. The Beurer TL80 Daylight Lamp uses two 36 watt tubes for a reliable flicker-free output at 10,000 lux.

The company states that around 1 hour a day with this lamp is ideal. It isn’t like other models where you sit directly in front of it for 10-15 minutes as therapy.

Instead, it is more about flooding the room with natural-looking light for a better experience as you go about your day.

While all of this sounds great for those looking for a simple solution for SAD and all the mood issues that go with it, there is a big issue that a lot of users can’t get past.

The size of the Beurer SAD Floor Lamp will make it impossible to use for many consumers.

This has one of the biggest SAD lamps out there. The size of the SAD light area is 39 by 32 cm, which is bigger than some of the large round desk lamps out there. But, this size increases further when you factor in the casing and the base.

This is 60cm tall and while there are photos in the listing of people placing this on their desk, that really isn’t a practical solution.

Instead, this is better sat on the floor so you need to have an appropriate permanent spot for it in your home. This one isn’t going to follow you room to room like so many other portable options.

What does this all mean for the final verdict on this Beurer TL80 SAD Light Therapy Lamp?

The size of this lamp really is the deal-breaker here. If you can’t see where this would fit within your home, it is better to go for something that is smaller and more portable.

But, if the idea of a free-standing massive SAD lamp is just what you have been looking for, this Beurer TL80 SAD lamp could be the ideal way to flood a room with natural light on a dark morning.
