The Pros and Cons of this Beurer TL50 SAD Lamp.

Pros:

  •  A big round light source for better coverage
  •  Medically certified for SAD and other related conditions
  •  A one-button operation for ease of use

Cons:

  •  A lack of extra features and functions
  •  Not as portable as other options.

The Beurer TL50 LED SAD Light Box has the potential to help SAD patients thanks to its safe, consistent light source and large coverage.

There is a lot to love about the physical design of this Beurer SAD lamp. If you need something big, bold and simple to use then this is a great starting point.

There is a 24cm diameter light that is more than big enough for illuminating your bedside area or workspace.

That light is flicker-free with nothing getting in the way other than some tiny branding on the top. It stands at just the right angle on its base to project the 10,000 lux light source.

Of course, there are also benefits in the quality of the light for SAD symptoms. That intensity and consistency of the light should mean that the light is pleasant to look at and strong enough to help you with fatigue and mood issues.

Those that use it regularly can see improvements with time. It is best to do so at a distance of 15cm.

There is a distinct lack of features in this Beurer TL50 compared to some other SAD lamps and therapy tools.

Unfortunately, we also have to look at the limited functionality of this device. While the one-button system has its benefits for that instant source of light, there are no additional buttons or settings to customise the experience.

This means that you can’t change the intensity or the tone, as you would with a lot of other lights. There is also no timer. Another consideration here is that this is not as portable as other models.

The strong stand doesn’t detach or fold away. Also, that big diameter does take up quite a bit of space in a bag.

Is this Beurer SAD Therapy Lamp still a helpful tool with all of these pros and cons in mind?

Ultimately, the appeal of this device lies in the one-button functionality for those with one clear aim from the device.

All you can do here is turn the lamp on, bask in the safe light source from the massive round display, and then turn it off when no longer required.

This is great for those that simply want to bring in more artificial sunlight in the darker months. It could still prove effective when used properly.

But, the lack of adjustments and timers might not work for those that need more structure or that have some light sensitivity issues. There are smarter devices than the Beurer SAD lamp, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t helpful for the right user.
