Are The AYO SAD Light Therapy Glasses An Effective Wearable Solution?

AYO SAD Light Therapy GlassesLight therapy glasses like the AYO SAD Light Therapy Glasses are designed to be the perfect way for people with SAD and mood disorders to gain some energy in the morning.

The idea here is that users can enjoy using this wearable device and go about their day with ease.

It should be a more convenient approach than sitting in front of a large lamp for 30 minutes straight. This small band looks better than some of the other medical support devices out there. But, does it provide enough benefits to help users every day?

This AYO SAD Light Therapy Glasses offers users a great chance to improve three different disorder with wearable tech.

AYO Light Therapy Glasses

The immediate selling point with these glasses is the way they look. This isn’t a cumbersome piece of eyewear that looks ridiculous in the office or that will just get in the way.

There is a small band that you wear like the frame of a pair of glasses, just without the rims for any lenses. It sits behind the ears and delivers light down from the top of the eyes. Users do need to be aware that this is a blue light system and there are people with light sensitivity issues that struggle to get along with blue light.

When not in uses, the product folds up into a compact size and sits within a protective case. When the battery runs out it is rechargeable ready for the next night.

The glasses are primarily sold as a jet lag solution rather than an SAD solution, but the principles behind the tech are pretty much the same. It is all about using light to mimic a natural light source to improve mood, energy levels and sleep patterns.

This is suitable when travelling across timezones but also around an office in the winter months. The reason that it is better suited to those with jet lag, in the long run, is that the most interesting feature related to your schedule. You can programme the device to work in time with your scheduled flight.

The algorithm changes the light levels based on your travels to optimise the response. There are some great comments about the comfort of these glasses and also the impact that they have on sleep patterns and jet lag recovery.

The design and tech involved mean that these AYO SAD/Jet Lag/Mood Glasses won’t be for everyone.

AYO Light Therapy Glasses with goAYO App

One of the downsides here is that you have to use the app to use the glasses correctly. It assumes that everyone wants to be able to upload their schedule – whether flying or sleeping – and doesn’t seem to have any manual override.

There are 3 specific programmes on the app for sleep energy and travel so there is a little room for preferences but not much. The app is free but only currently available on certain iOS and Android devices. This does rule out a few too many users and buyers need to check availability before purchasing the glasses.

Another small issue mentioned by a user is that this product has a larger charging system that is a little too heavy for hand luggage. This could be a problem for those with minimal carry-on luggage, such as those on a weekend of business, that are short on space.

Is this AYO SAD Light Therapy System still a good choice for those with the three disorders highlighted?

For the most part, users seem to be very impressed with what this pair of glasses can offer. Those that get along with the app and scheduling system tend to find that this is a comfortable, reliable method that yields good results.

Critics would say that it is overpriced for what it is. However, supporters say that they do think that it offers value for money compared to some other devices they have used. Therefore, these AYO SAD light glasses are best recommended for all those that want a simple, portable solution to jet lag, sleep issues and energy problems.
